A couple of weeks ago I spotted a bull moose out in the field. Quickly grabbing the camera I made a few images while hand holding the 300mm lens. He didn’t seem bothered, so I quietly started setting up the tripod and attached the 500mm to hopefully get a better view of this nice looking bull. He was easily over a hundred yards away. As I walked my gear to the other side of the gravel road the bull started backing up. Shoot! I started talking to him letting him know I meant him no harm. This is not an unusual reaction for me, and I should note that Tom has reminded me many times that I’m not actually living in a Disney movie. To my surprise another bull stood up and began walking toward the original subject in my viewfinder. Now that was cool! Even better, was that for a few moments the two aligned nicely for this image.
